In May this year the world lost one of its finest guitarists with the passing of Phil Emmanuel.
Phil and his brother Tommy, playing together as the Emmanuel Brothers, had graced stages all over the world with names such as Chet Atkins, Duane Eddy, America, Hank B Marvin, John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, INXS, Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson.
Phil had also performed alongside Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, James Morrison, Lee Kernaghan, Slim Dusty and Midnight Oil
.This video was recorded at the 2008 Tamworth Country Music Festival and highlights Phil’s passion for the instrument, his craft and his dedication for mentoring young emerging guitarists.
Phil Emmanuel was awarded an OAM in the 2018 Queen's Birthday honours list.
